</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">De retour a Beijing, 4 mois et demi plus tard, la tête pleine de belles images et d’expériences, il nous restait plus qu’a faire un peu de magasinage et bien entendu visiter la grande muraille pour compléter notre voyage idyllique. Afin d’être fidèles à nous-même, il nous fallait vivre une dernière aventure pour visiter la grande muraille et se rendre par nos propres moyens et non à l’aide d’un tour organisé afin de visiter une partie de la grande muraille moins touristique. Malgré les contre-indications reçus par différents personnes à notre hôtel, nous avons fait à notre tête et sommes partis à l’aventure pour une dernière fois. En fait, si vous visitez un jour Beijing et que vous voulez vous rendre à la grande muraille, s’y rendre par soi-même n’est vraiment pas si difficile, suffit d’un peu de débrouillardise! Une autobus de ville et un trajet de taxi plus tard, nous étions à Huanghua, tronçon de la muraille quasi désertique. Wow, ça vaut la peine. Quel panorama et quel travail, incroyable! Voilà qui mettait la touche finale à ce périple de près de 5 mois en terre asiatique. Contents et satisfaits d’avoir vécu autant d’aventures inoubliables et rencontrés des gens aux personnalités attachantes. <div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Point de départ de notre longue traversée en bateau vers la Chine (30 heures jusqu'à Quingdao ville de la bière Tsingtao), Shimonoseki n'a pas grand chose à offrir aux premiers abords. Nous avons bien tenté de visiter le marché de poissons qui est un must selon plusieurs, mais l'essentiel de l'action se déroulant entre 4 et 6 heures du matin, c'était un peu trop tôt pour nos petits corps endormis. Restait donc qu'une activité à faire et c'était de manger le petit poisson en forme de boule avec des piquants que les japonais appele fugu, une spécialité de Shimonoseki. Depuis le début de notre aventure nippone que Pete se plait qu'il veut manger du fugu (il faut savoir que le fugu lorsqu'il est mal apprêté peut être empoissonné et peut causer la mort).</span></div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br />

Pas de paralysie, ce qui est bon signe, et pour dire vrai, le fugu ça goûte pas grand chose, mais l'expérience en valait tout de même la peine! C'est finalement avec beaucoup de tristesse que nous avons dû dire aurevoir au japonais. Le Japon fut pour nous un pays fascinant, théâtre de moments inoubliables. Et ce n'est qu'un aurevoir puisque nous avons bien l'intention d'y retourner un jour!</span></div><br />

<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Notre court séjour à Tsuwano, petit village campagnard en montagne, a été l'occasion pour nous de vivre des expériences typiquement japonaises. En autres, nous avons tenté l'expérience minshuku, auberge traditionnelle japonaise avec seulement quelques chambres et service personnalisé. </span></span><br />

<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">D'abord, à l'arrivée, on enlève nos souliers dans l'entrée et on enfile de jolies petites pantoufles. C'est interdit au Japon de garder ses souliers à l'intérieur de la maison. Même une fois les pantoufles enfilés, il ne faut pas oublier de les enlever pour se rendre sur les tatamis (tapis japonais). A la toilette, il faut enlever ses pantoufles "tout-aller" et revêtir des pantoufles de toilette. Les japonais sont si sympathiques que si vous faites une erreur de protocole, ils vous en informeront avec le sourire. Puis, la propriétaire-hôtesse-cuisinière-bref,femme-à-tout-faire nous montre notre chambre...vide. Où sont les lits? En fait, votre petit futon est dans le garde-robe, il sera installé plus tard en soirée. Pour l'instant, le thé est servi. </span></span><br />

Un régal, que dis-je, un délice! C'est tout simplement succulent! Sashimis, nouilles soba, soupe miso, légumes tempura, viande et légumes cuits dans un caquelon devant soi, riz et j'en passe! De retour à la chambre, de petites fés sont passées pour préparer les lits, les kimonos sont sortis, votre bain chaud vous attend. On se sent traiter aux petits oignons chez les japonais! Pour bien terminer la soirée, nous avons dégusté un bon saké acheté la journée même dans l'une des petites distilleries familiales de la ville.</span></span><br />

La journée commence tôt avec les japonais puisque nous devions quitter la chambre pour 9 heures. Après avoir fait un peu de trekking, qui s'est avéré un peu plus long que prévu puisqu'on s'est perdu dans notre raccourci (Pete dit que c'était pas si pire!), destination ONSEN. Qu'est-ce qu'un onsen? C'est des bains chauds ouvert au public avec sauna, bain froid et douches, le tout dans votre plus simple appareil...bien entendu les hommes et les femmes séparés. Que c'est relaxant! </span></span><br />

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Fraîchement débarqués du traversier à destination de l'île de Miyajima nous sommes un peu déçus de constater le grand nombre de touristes japonais venus contempler l'une des trois plus belles vues du Japon. C'est quoi cette vue? Eh bien c'est une grande porte de style Tori qui donne l'impression de flotter sur l'eau à marée haute. Mais au moment de notre arrivée c'est marée basse alors notre attention est plutôt portée vers les boutiques souvenirs qui vendent des kokeshis (poupées japonaises) beaucoup trop belles. Vu le nombre de modèles et notre indécision parfois légendaire ça risque de prendre l'après-midi pour en choisir une... S'accordant une pause de magasinage, nous décidons de grimper jusqu'au point le plus élevé de l'île afin de profiter d'une superbe vue sur les environs. De retour juste à temps pour le coucher de soleil, quel ne fut pas notre plaisir de découvrir que la porte tant vénéré était désormais englouti en partie par la marée haute et offrait avec le coucher du soleil un tableau splendide. Il ne restait plus qu'à acheter la plus jolie des poupées japonaises afin de terminer cette journée en beauté!</span></div><br />

Faut dire que ca devait faire presque 2 ans qu'on ne s'etait pas vus! Vous pouvez vous imaginez qu'on etaient pas mal enerves. On a commence la soiree sur une couple de bieres japonaises et beaucoup de jasette. Ensuite petite escale dans un 'bar', en gros un comptoir avec 4 places debout, pour sake et snack de fin de soiree.
Samedi, debut de la visite de Kyoto. Il y avaient des tonnes d'activites au programme parce que comme par hasard c'etait la fin de semaine de floraison maximale des cerisers. On aurait pas pu mieux tomber. On est dabord allees voir le palais imperial qui etait ouvert au public pour la seule fois de l'année. Puis, preparation pour la soirée qui allait sannoncer mémorable. D'abord, on est alles dans le quartier de Gion, ou on a pu voir une dizaine de geishas et meme se faire photographier avec l'une d'elles dont le client etait plutot cool. C'etait vraiment surreel. Normalement il est difficile de les voir et si on reussit elles s'eloignent a une vitesse folle. Malgre les diverses campagnes de sante publique en cours, les Chinois semblent avoir de la difficulte a se departir de leurs mauvaises habitudes. Par exemple, se racler la gorge pendant de longues minutes et ressortir le tout en un joli crachat sur le trottoir semble faire parti de la toilette quotidienne. Et ce, meme chez les femmes.</div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br />

Par exemple, l utilisation de couches est restreinte. Au lieu des couches, les enfants portent des pantalons avec un beau grand trou ou les fesses afin qu ils puissent evacuer a leur guise quand bon leurs semblent (et oui, dans les lieux publics et pas besoin de se rendre a la toilette, en plein air, c est encore mieux!). Quelqu un devrait leur faire part de l existence des couches reutilisables.</div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br />

Contrairement a nous, ils n ont pas leur "bulle"; ils ne font pas la file, mais plutot un gigantesque tapon (genial quand il y a des centaines de personnes qui veulent prendre la meme entree) et surtout dans le dit "tapon", la coutume est de bousculer au maximum afin d entrer avant les autres! Si un Chinois vous conseille de visiter une certaine ville, surtout, n y aller pas parce que ca signifie que des milliers et des milliers de ses compatriotes chinois pensent la meme chose. Nous voulions avoir un petit week-end tranquille afin de se ressourcer avant d aller au Japon, mais nous n aurions pas pu plus mal tombe avec notre destination, l ile de Gulang Yu a proximite de Xiamen. Les Chinois avaient deja envahis notre petite ile paisible dans le cadre d un long week-end de conge. Chambre d hotel toutes reservees, prix a la hausse et surpeuplement de l ile. Il faut savoir que Gulang Yu a une charme colonnial indeniable ce qui la rend particulierement attrayante aupres des chinois en vacances.</div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br />

On y allait pour voir le paysage apparemment a couper le souffle des rizieres en terasses, mais nous avons eu trois jours de brouillard intense... Nous avions pourtant fourni un effort surhumain alors que nous etions debout a 5 heure du matin pour voir le lever du soleil sur les magnifiques rizieres... Au moins nous avons pu en apprendre un peu plus sur le peuple Hani vivant dans les montagnes du sud du Yunnan et portant des habits traditionels aux couleurs vives. Pour couronner le tout alors que nous avons fui le Japon nous avons ressenti le tremblement de terre de magnitude 7.0 survenu dans le nord du Myanmar. Lors de notre sejour, il a plu 3 jours sur 4 et il faisait frette... Compte tenu de la situation en date du 14 mars 2011 date ou nous devions nous rendre au Japon soit 3 jours apres les catastrophes que l'on connait, nous avons decide de poursuivre notre periple en Chine pour l'immediat (15 mars au 7 avril). Toutefois, notre passion pour la culture nippone et une heureuse tournure dans la logistique de notre voyage nous ont decide a finalement visiter le Japon pour 2 semaines (7 avril au 22 avril)! Ne vous inquietez pas, nous sommes dans le sud du pays et en bonne compagnie (avec mon amie quebecoise Vanessa qui habite au Japon depuis plusieurs mois). A date, aucune trace de radioactivite sur notre corps et dans nos comportements...Ensuite, nous allons prendre le bateau du Japon jusqu'en Chine puisque notre vol de retour (28 avril) part de Beijing!</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">1. Nous sommes millionnaire! Oui! Oui! Saviez-vous qu'au Vietnam 1$ équivaut a 21 000 Dôngs? Nous avons donc régulièrement plus d'un million de Dôngs dans nos poches. Pour donner une idée du coup de la vie: bière = 15 000 Dôngs, repas = 100 000 Dôngs et une chambre d'hôtel = 200 000 a 450 000 Dôngs.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">2.1. On avait vu depuis notre arrivée en Asie de nombreuses personnes porter un masque chirurgical au visage. On a d'abord cru que c'était pour se protéger de la pollution ou encore que ces gens avaient une bonne grippe, mais au Vietnam, c'est une coutume très répandue et presque uniquement chez les femmes.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">2.2. On a remarque que les vietnamiennes a l'instar des thaïlandaises se couvrent de la tête au pied (chapeau, foulard, masque, gros chandail, pantalon long, bas dans les sandales (ici c'est plus chic que chez nous!), et ce, même lorsqu'il fait 35 degrés. Nous, au même moment, on sue a grosses goutes en shorts et en t-shirts aussitôt que le mercure dépasse les 20 degrés!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">2.3. Se bruler la peau a l'acide.. Drôle d'idée non?! C'est pourtant ce que semble faire les femmes vietnamiennes. Comment ça marche? Le mode d'emploi est plutôt simple. Suffit d'appliquer un peu d'acide et quelques heures plus tard vous pouvez peler la couche de peau. On ne pense pas essayer par contre...</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">2.4. Définitivement il y a un mystère derrière ces comportements plutôt saugrenues des femmes vietnamiennes. Elles semblent faire tous ces efforts afin de rendre leur peau le plus pale possible. En fait, certaines sont si pales que c'est Julie qui a l'air bronzee a cote d'eux.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">3. En Asie, nous avons vu beaucoup de "fausses" choses. Des fausses saccoches de marques, de fausses montres, de faux souliers et mêmes des faux passeports. Mais nous ne pensions pas possible de trouver des "faux" livres. Et oui, les vietnamiens photocopient tous les bestsellers et livres de voyages a la perfection et vendent le tout pour un dixième du véritable prix.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">4. Vous savez, on a évolue depuis le tout premier jour de notre périple. Après trois mois de voyage, nous sommes passes maîtres dans l'art de la négociation. Nous avons différentes tactiques:</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">a) La tactique linguistique ou au beau milieu de la négociation on se met a parler français ensemble. Ce qui semble déstabiliser les asiatiques et inciter ceux-ci a baisser leur prix. Le pire c'est que souvent on discute même pas du prix, mais plutôt de tout et de rien ..et ça fonctionne!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">b) La tactique du "tout-pour-le-tout" alors que nous faisons face a des négociateurs plus acharnes ou parfois seulement pour voir ce qu'ils ont dans ventre, on décide de tout laisser et nous quittons les lieux. 95% du temps en franchissant la porte ils cèdent a nos demandes.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">c) La tactique "perdre son sang froid". Normalement, toutes négociations doit se dérouler avec le sourire et dans la bonne humeur. Sauf que parfois le processus peut être frustrant ce qui amène Julie (la spécialiste du couple pour cette tactique) a pique une petite colère et a lever le ton. Parfois ça marche!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Il est important de savoir que dans notre cas le but de la négociation n'est pas toujours de "presser le citron" au maximum ou autrement dit d'obtenir absolument le prix le moins cher. C'est surtout de payer un prix raisonnable et non gonfle pour les touristes comme c'est trop souvent le cas en Asie.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">5. Si vous entendez un bruit de frottement sur le sol c'est probablement qu'un vietnamien (ou tout autre asiatique) s'approche avec cette démarche distinctive de quelqu'un qui se traine les pieds avec ses gougounes!</span><br />

Mais bon, on ne peut pas trop reprocher aux vietnamiens de se trainer les pieds (bien qu'a la longue ca devienne un peu agacant) puisque ces derniers travaillent en général sans cesse. </div><div style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Apres avoir bouge beaucoup au cours des dernieres semaines au Vietnam, nous avons ressenti le besoin de rester dans la capital vietnamienne un peu plus longtemps que prevu. C'est toujours le fun de connaitre un peu plus une ville au-dela de ses sites touristiques en decouvrant differents quartiers, cafes, restaurants, parcs. Nous sommes particulierement tombes amoureux du quartier autour de la cathedrale Saint-Joseph ou nous avons pris l'habitude de relaxer en degustant de delicieux phos accompagnes de bieres locales. La vie dans ce quartier est paisible comparativement a la vieille ville continuellement active, bruyante et vivant a un rythme effrene a un point tel que cela devient rapidement deplaisant. </div><div style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><br />

<div style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Entre deux pauses a Hanoi, il fallait en profiter pour decouvrir la fameuse Baie de Halong. Ce qui aurait normalement du s'averer simple devint rapidement complexe. Voici donc le recit de deux voyageurs quebecois laisses seuls a eux-memes parmi les nords vietnamiens au comportement o combien imprevisible. Les deux aventuriers avaient comme objectif d'atteindre l'ile de Cat Ba par leurs propres moyens et non a l'aide de l'un de ces vilains tours organises. Sur leur route, vos deux voyageurs preferes ont du trouver refuge dans la ville peu accueillante de Haiphong, affronter une vietnamienne agressive imposant un droit de passage naval faramineux avant de subir la raclee d'une vieille dame a bord du bateau. Voila, l'objectif etait finalement atteint, non pas sans heurts, mais le meilleur etait a venir! Les jeunes backpackers insouciants (ok, pour les moins rapides, c'est de nous dont il est question dans l'histoire) etaient sur le point d'etre inities aux pratiques de la mafia vietnamienne des tours de bateau sur la Baie d'Halong. </div><div style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Depuis le debut du voyage, on aime bien magasiner ce que l'on achete aupres des differents commercants afin de payer un prix raisonnable. Aussi nous aimons encourager differents entreprises dans une meme localite. Apparemment, sur Cat Ba, ca marche pas comme ca! Nous logions a un hotel vraiment super; joli chambre, personnel sympa et bon petit resto. Les commentaires sur internet sur cet etablissement n'etait qu'elogieux. Or, on s'est bute au chef de la mafia, proprietaire de notre hotel. A notre grand malheur, la croisiere reserve la veille avec une entreprise situee a quelques pas de l'hotel fut annulee le matin meme. Comme alternative, notre mafieux voulait nous faire payer plus cher l'une de ses croisieres. L'offre a ete re-fu-see, bien sur! Il n'en fallait pas moins pour que ce type decide de nous bloquer de toutes les embarcations qu'il possedait sur l'ile, qu'il perd son calme et qu'il se met a crier apres nous en demandant pourquoi nous SES clients avions ose acheter ailleurs! L'histoire atteint son paroxysme lorsque notre sympathique mafieux alla jusqu'a appeler tous les commercants du coin afin de les empecher de nous vendre une croisiere sur la baie de Halong! </div><div style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Ne vous inquietez pas, l'histoire a finalement une fin heureuse. Nous avons finalement reserve une croisiere aupres d'une charmante dame qui a fait fi des dires du mafieux afin de nous permettre de passer une merveilleuse journee sur la baie. Nous avons pu contempler les pics karstiques, fait une saucette dans l'eau glaciale (Pete!) et fait du kayak au travers des habitations sur l'eau. Nous avons aussi profite d'une derniere journee sans histoire sur l'ile de Cat Ba pour faire une longue balade en moto en amoureux (oui, oui!) avec des vues a couper le souffle pour se rendre dans un magnifique parc national. <br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Hue est une jolie ville relativement calme et nous avions rapidement decide de n'y passer que deux jours. Julie s'est assuree que notre passage dans cette capitale culturelle du Vietnam ne soit pas trop ennuyante alors qu'elle a perdue sa carte de credit (heille, bravo!) lors dune transaction au guichet automatique apres un temps d'attente juge trop long par le dit guichet qui decida d'avaler la carte de Julie.. Il faut dire que celle-ci etait trop occupee a compter ses millions de dongs remis en petites coupures. Il s'en suivi d'une folle course afin de retrouver la carte juste a temps pour prendre le bus du soir en direction d'Hanoi. Ouffff! Tout est bien qui fini bien! Heureusement nous avons quand meme eu le temps de visiter la citadelle de Hue. Une magnifique forteresse semblable a la cite interdite de Beijing bien que beaucoup moins bien conservee. C'est sans doute pour cette raison qu'elle n'a a tort pas une aussi belle reputation.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Avec sa vieille ville aux rues etroites, Hoi An a tout pour seduire. Le seul hic dans tout ca, c'est que nous ne sommes pas les seuls a s'y presenter pour y etre charmer. En effet, Hoi An est malheureusement atteinte de la maladie des "tour groups", une maladie difficile a guerir qui se traduit par un nombre anormalement eleve de touristes. Cette maladie engendre aussi des symptomes tels que la multiplication de phrases du type "cheap cheap please come buy inside", "where do you go... please take my taxi", "where you from... ahhh beautiful country please buy from me" jusqu'a ce que ce que le voyageur ainsi pris d'assault finisse par abdiquer ou dans le pire des cas pique une petite colere. Heureusement pour nous, nous trouvames un remede qui consistait en un instructif voyage dans les villages aux alentours nous permettant d'en apprendre beaucoup sur la culture vietnamienne. Apres ce cours Vietnam 101 tres apprecie, nous avons choisi d'apprendre a cuisiner les veritables delices que sont les plats traditionnels vietnamiens. Avis a tous ceux qui voudraient venir souper chez nous afin de profiter de nos nouveaux talents de cuisiniers, nous ne prenons pas de reservation avant le mois de mai.</span><br />

Les poissons etaient tout aussi beaux qu'a Koh Tao, Thailande tandis que les coraux etaient un peu mieux conserves. </div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Les 11 kilometres de plage a l'exterieur du village de pecheurs de Mui Ne et les vents constants offrent aux amateurs de kite surfing un reel paradis. Dommage que les cours et location d'equipement coutent une fortune puisque nous aurions bien voulu nous joindre a ces centaines de passionnes (etonnamment presque tous Russes)! Notre horaire etait plutot bain de soleil, nage a la piscine, lecture et frisbee. C'est pas toujours facile la vie de voyageurs, il faut aussi se ressourcer! </div><br />

Mais comme il nous est difficile de jouer les pachas tres longtemps, nous avons aussi fait une excursion dans un mini-canyon et monter d'impressionnantes dunes de sable avant de les devaler avec notre 'crazy carpet'.<br />

En fait, apparemment qu'on en compte plus de 5 millions dans cette ville de plus de 10 millions d'habitants. Et on les retrouve partout: sur le trottoir, sur la route a sens inverse, dans les parcs, ce qui peut rendre le parcours de pietons comme nous plutot ardu. Cela n'empeche pas Saigon (encore appele ainsi par les Vietnamiens) d'avoir un charme bien a elle; une architecture francaise, de nombreuses petites boutiques et cafes "trendy" de meme que des habitants bien sympathiques. On s'y regale d'excellente cuisine vietnamienne et on redemande specialement des phos (soupes aux nouilles), rouleaux de printemps et sandwichs servis dans d'excellents pains baguettes. Miam! Le plus beau dans tout ca c'est que c'est vraiment pas cher! Pour le meme montant qu'en Thailande nous en avons souvent beaucoup plus pour notre argent. Quoi de mieux pour appronfondir nos connaissances historiques qu'une visite du musee de la guerre bien sur ainsi qu'une visite d'un reseau de tunnels souterrains a Cu Chi. Les deux en valaient vraiment le detour specialment le reseau de tunnels. Imaginez! Les Viet Congs (vietnamiens communistes du Sud) ont construit ce gigantesque reseau de tunnels, qui jadis faisait plus de 150 km de long, pour a la fois se cacher des americains et contre-attaquer de maniere furtive. On se rend rapidement compte qu'on ne voudrait pour rien au monde etre un soldat vietnamien servant a la guerre et passer des jous et des jours dans un de ces tunnels sous la terre ou la chaleur est suffocante, on peine a se promener meme en petit bonhomme et ou il faut cohabiter avec de grosses bibittes et des serpents! Ils ont meme installe un shooting range sur le site ce qui rend l'experience d'autant plus intense avec tous ces sons de mitrallettes. Pete peut dorenavant dire que le seul arme avec lequel il a tire dans sa vie est un AK-47, rien de moins!</div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br />

</div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Khao Yai est considere comme etant l'une des plus belles jungles conservees de la planete, </div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">mais ca semble etre un secret bien garde. Un secret bien garde puisque pour s'y rendre, il a </div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">fallu travailler fort; surtout en voulant y aller a "notre" facon (sans loger au resort pres du parc organisant de multiples tours guides). Il a plutot fallu se debrouiller pour denicher le seul hotel de Pak Chong que personne ne semblait avoir jamais entendu parler, faire du pouce (heureusement, on a ete aide par de gentils thais) et tenter de trouver de la bouffe "safe" alors que l'estomac ne collaborait plus. Et l'experience en valait la peine! Nous avons vus et entendus des Gibbons et differentes especes oiseaux, admires de magnifiques arbres geants et de jolies chutes d'eau au cours d'une epopee de 5 heures dans la jungle "off road" avec un ranger thai. Pete s'est meme fait attaque par une fourmi geante, mais apparemment pas si dangereuse selon notre ranger thai qui nous accompagnait et qui parlait tres peu anglais! </div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Parfois on mene un bonne vie. On arrive dans une ville sans trop savoir a quoi s'attendre et paf! On tombe sur la seule journee dans semaine ou tous les habitants de Chiang Mai se rassemblent pour le magnifique marche du dimanche. Sans contredit le plus beau que nous ayions vu en Asie. Un marche en plein-air, artistique, creatif et vivant! Une magnifique journee et une belle facon de commencer notre visite dans cette capitale culturelle du nord de la Thailande. Somme toute, nous avons beaucoup aime Chiang Mai. Il faut dire que nous avons trouve ses habitants particulierements avenants comparativement au gens du sud. Nous nous sommes aussi laisses tenter par quelques-unes des activites prisees de Chiang Mai soit une journee passee avec les elephants et une visite chez les tigres.</div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Le Baan Chang Elephant Park ne fait pas les choses comme les autres. Ils prennent soin de leurs elephants et sont contre l'exploitation commerciale; aucune chaise utilise pour se balader avec les elephants et ils ne leurs apprennent aucun tour contrairement a plusieurs autres centres dans les environs. Quel plaisir d'avoir la chance de passer du temps a nourrir ces grosses betes, en apprendre plus sur eux et leurs modes de vie, apprendre a monter et diriger notre elephant et aussi lui donner le bain!</div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br />

Le concept: tu payes 15-20$ par personne pour 15 minutes avec des tigres... Vont-ils dormir ou meme etre drogues comme certains l'affirment? Mais au bout du compte nous avons bien apprecie notre experience; non, ils ne sont pas drogues, mais, oui ils dorment presque tout le temps. <div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">De retour a Bangkok apres notre periple de 3 semaines intense au Myanmar, nous arrivions juste a temps pour celebrer le nouvel an chinois. 2011, annee du lapin! ...Et pour profiter de l'hospitalite de Bangkok, c'est-a-dire de bonnes bouffes, un peu de shopping, cinema et un hotel comfortable. En plus, notre hotel (Hua Lamphong) choisi une semaine auparavant, et ce, sans avoir pense a cette grande celebration etait a 2 pas du quartier chinois! Ye! </div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Comment Bangkok festoie le nouvel an? Par un gigantesque marche de nuit, bien sur (toute rejouissance en Asie semble irrevocablement s'accompagner d'un marche ou tout, tout se vend)! Heureusement les fetes du nouvel an chinois dure plus d'une journee. Nous avons donc pu assister a des spectacles a travers la ville, notamment des danses du dragon et de tambours chinois. Pas comme le numero aux Olympiques d'ete de Pekin, mais quand meme impressionnant!</div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br />
</div><span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Nous sommes egalement revenus vers Bangkok pour la St-Valentin apres avoir passe 10 jours dans le nord de la Thailande puisque le lendemain nous prenions un vol vers Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Rien de plus facile pour trouver de bons restos populaires que de se rendre dans les centres d'achats de Siam Square (c'est pas comme chez nous, ici les centres commerciaux abritent certains des meilleurs restaurants). Notre choix s'est porte sur un restaurant italien bien a la mode et tendance. Pete a d'ailleurs experimente l'un de leurs plats populaires. Des pates aux calmars servis avec sauce noire a l'encre de pieuvre. Le resultat etait tres romantique: de jolies levres et dents toutes noires! Au moins ca partait facilement. Mais une chose est certaine, c'est un pays a decouvrir, ne serait-ce que pour apprendre a connaitre son peuple genereux et accueillant malgre la tyrannie d'un gouvernement que les Birmans ne plaisent a detester loin des regards indiscrets. Reste que le Myanmar est aussi beaucoup plus qu'un peuple amical, c'est egalement des paysages a couper le souffle qui peuvent etre admires loin des hordes de touristes. C'est un pays ou le temps s'arrete, ou les moines sont consideres comme des rock stars et ou les bouddhas sont si importants qu'ils sont laves par les paysans tous les matins (alors que les Birmans eux-memes ne s'offrent pas ce luxe).</span></span></span><br />
